RemoteAccess 1.01
-----------------
This upgrade fixes a number of mostly minor bugs reported since the public
release of 1.00. The only significant change in this release is the
message-base locking scheme. The new locking system is much tighter, and
will be supported in the forthcoming releases of FrontDoor 2.01 and
TosScan 1.10 - Silver Xpress and XRS already support it, making possible
simultaneous message base access by any combination of these products.
* An updated version of RAEXIT, to correctly handle the
EXITINFO.BBS conversion.
* An updated version of AVTCONV which fixes a number of
minor problems in the 1.00 release.
* An updated verison of RANODE which fixes a bug present
since it's original release.
* Text not properly wrapping at the user's end when in
chat mode.
* "Free" files sometimes being recorded in the user's daily
download record.
* The cursor remaining visible when the screen blanker
was activated.
* The incremental name search not working properly in USERED.
* An extra line being inserted in the full screen message
header when all netmail attributes were enabled.
* Users kilobyte upload record sometimes not being updated
correctly.
* When SNOOP mode was disabled, page pausing would not
work properly.
* CTRL-X would not work properly when entering a password.
* RA would not properly display a black on black AVATAR
attribute.
* RA would not check all file areas for a duplicate upload.
* Menu macro characters (@, `, ~ etc) were being expanded
in type 40 text files incorrectly.
* When "show missing files" was disabled, RA would not
display "comment only" lines.
* RA would crash after executing certain menu commands from
a questionnaire file.
* The message reader would occasionally drop out if the
user hit "N" during a message display.
* BADFILES.CTL checking not working properly with Zmodem
uploads.
* The ONCEONLY textfile would not be displayed to new users.
* User's date of birth was not displayed anywhere; it's now
viewable on the F2 status bar.
* RA would not check netmail credit when a user did a
netmail reply to an echomail message.
* RA would not allow a user to select any message areas for
combined mode access if area 200 combined access was
disabled.
* Path and drive qualifier information was not being stripped
properly from user-supplied upload file names.
* "Press enter to continue" prompts should have cleared the
user's stacked key buffer but didn't.
* New users were getting hot keys even if they didn't want them.
* If a menu line was not available because a user's security
was too low, the first character of the next menu line
would not be displayed properly.
* TRASHCAN.CTL now recognises 1 and 2 character names.
* If a user selects an empty handle, RA substitutes that
user's name automatically.
* Users can now delete messages that were posted with
their handle.
* A duplicate zmodem upload now causes the FILEDUPE.A??
file to be displayed after the transfer.
* Fixed a problem with the screen blanker. The status bar
would only blank if RA was in 25 line mode.
* High bit characters are now allowed in chat, user names
and message text.
* Fixed the list archive filename stuff. Extensions are
no longer mandatory, and it aborts gracefully if the
user enters a blank filename.
* Fixed a problem in the full screen message reader
which caused the text window to scroll before the text
reached the end of the defined screen length if the
user's screen length was greater than the local
physical screen length.
* A file marked as FREE no longer increments the user's
number of files downloaded record.
* Aborted uploads are now automatically removed.
* Fixed a small cosmetic bug with the number of days until
subscription expiry textfile control code.
* RA now honours security and flag settings when a menu
template command with a literal value is encountered.
* Fixed a small cosmetic problem with long names in
the userlist.
* The 'continue' prompt no longer ignores characters
entered while the prompt is being displayed.
* Cleaned up and recoded a fair bit of the IEMSI
negotiation stuff; it should be a lot more robust
now.
* RA did not properly restore the CTRL-BREAK interrupt
vector when a memory-swapped shell was executed. This
has been fixed.
